Chemotherapy for Angiosarcoma
FREE Case Review
Angiosarcoma is somewhat of a contradiction; it takes years to accumulate enough toxins to develop the cancer, but once it does it is extremely aggressive, usually fatal within six months of diagnosis. This aspect of the disease significantly complicates treatment, but chemotherapy is sometimes useful for treating early stage angiosarcoma. Depending on the location of the tumor, doctors can inject chemotherapy drugs directly into the tumor site. The effectiveness of the drugs depends greatly on the extent of the disease because advanced tumors usually fail to respond to chemotherapy. Unfortunately, by the time angiosarcoma is discovered, it is often too advanced to respond to chemotherapy.
